Girdusky praised former President Trump during a roundtable discussion on CNN Newsnight. He also blasted the media for portraying Trump supporters as “Hitler” and “fascist.”

Host Abby Phillip immediately disputed this claim, saying, “That did not happen.” Hasan followed up by highlighting offensive remarks, such as disparaging remarks about Puerto Rico, made by some Trump rally participants.

Girdusky said, “I hope your beeper doesn’t go off,” in a contentious racist statement aimed at Hasan as the argument heated up.

This remark provoked quick outrage because it was widely perceived as racist and made reference to a violent Hezbollah incident.

CNN took strong action after the incident by banning Girdusky. The network emphasized that such remarks have no place in polite conversation and declared its zero tolerance policy for racism and hate.
