After it was reported that Bryant’s final action was to shove kids aside to make room for the approaching vehicle, she was praised as a hero. It was “unbelievable” to a horrified detective that a three-year-old youngster had been injured. Byrant’s local MP praised her as a “hero” because she was the only one to die.

When several kids and teachers were wrapping up a play break yesterday at 2:00 pm, the McKenzie Water truck struck the playground of Macedon Ranges Montessori Preschool on Main Road in Riddells Creek Accident.

The “experienced 68-year-old driver is understood to have suffered a medical episode,” according to Alan McKenzie, proprietor of McKenzie Water.

Before colliding with the playground, the water tanker is thought to have struck a power pole.

According to Detective Senior Sergeant Christian Von Tunk, the truck seemed to have struck a bridge and many traffic signals before swerving into the playground. He said police would follow up on stories of Bryant’s “acts of bravery”.

While a three-year-old kid was hurt and transported to the Royal Children’s Hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries to his arm, Bryant passed away at the scene.

This morning, he is still in the hospital in a stable state.Keith Wolahan, a federal member for Menzies, described the instructor as a “hero who made the sacrifice.”

The truck’s Broadford-based driver was also sent to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable state.

According to von Tuck, the motorist was contacted by paramedics and police following the collision. He stated the company was helping the driver who was in the hospital.

There were “a lot of very stressed parents” at the scene, including a man with blood on his jumper, a witness told 9News.

According to von Tuck, play equipment sustained significant damage in the collision, but the kindergarten buildings were unaffected.

Investigations are underway to determine the precise circumstances.
