The Eagles’ Hotel California is one of the most iconic rock tunes ever made for the big display screen.
That’s why it should come as no surprise that a well-known Hollywood producer sought to conform the music into a film. Don Henley of the Eagles pointed out why he did not agree with that changed into an amazing idea. He changed into not wrong.
The iconic Nineteen Seventies movies Taxi Driver, The Sting, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind have been produced by using Julia Phillips. Her aim was to turn The Eagles’ hit song into a movie.
Who wanted to make movie from the song, Hotel California?
Taxi Driver, the The iconic Nineteen Seventies movies was produced by using Julia Phillips. Her aim was to turn The Eagles’ hit song into a movie. Her intention became to show The Eagles’ hit song into a film. He said, the movie makers always felt that because they wanted to make movies out of our songs, we should be flattered or excited.”
To be honest, we really had no desire to deal with it. The Eagles felt that the movie makers would take their songs, Hotel California and trash them. The Eagles were aware enough about the film industry to understand that, as with modern rock videos, you would have to give up all control and that it was someone else’s vision.
Was Eagles Right To their Decision?
Hotel California lasts for more than seven minutes. It could, at most, be turned into a passably decent short film. The kind of content it has wouldn’t work well for a two-hour film, let alone a ninety-minute one.
Moreover, it seems a little cheesy to base a movie around a pop song. As long as a movie makes sense, it can be silly. We can only presume, though, that a movie version of “Hotel California” would have attempted to be as spooky and unfunny as the song itself. Because of this, a movie based on the song probably would have been a needless bore.
For one week, Hotel California become the number one tune at the Billboard Hot 100. It spent 19 weeks on the chart. For a complete of 158 weeks, the album Hotel California remained on the top of the Billboard 200 list, with eight weeks on the pinnacle. A proper location to start if you want to hear what American rock sounded like in the Seventies is Hotel California.
