Paul Di’Anno, the former vocalist for Iron Maiden, handed away at the age of 66. In a announcement posted on social media on Monday, October 21, his longtime label Conquest Music confirmed the news.

1958 saw the birth of Di’Anno in Chingford, East London. The singer played in a number of bands during his adolescence until drummer Doug Sampson brought him to Iron Maiden’s original lineup. 1978 saw Di’Anno join the group.
Iron Maiden’s fame increased after they recorded their first EP, The Smallwood Tapes, the same year, and a year later they signed a record deal with EMI.

Paul, an English rock musician, died on the age of sixty six in his Salisbury home, in line with the announcement.

Iron Maiden posted a picture of bassist Steve Harris and Di’Anno with a dedication to their social media following.
The band’s first two albums, Iron Maiden in 1980 & Killers in 1981 , featured lead vocals by Di’Anno.
Di’Anno was stripped of his vocal responsibilities in 1981 after battling drug addiction, and Bruce Dickinson took his place.
He would later front a number of different bands, such as Di’Anno, his own band, Battlezone, and Gogmagog.
