George Harrison came out of his semi-retirement when he acknowledged that he had not released any music for a whole year.

George Harrison battled to get his fellow band members to take his music seriously for a significant amount of his tenure with The Beatles. Like Paul McCartney and John Lennon, he aspired to be a songwriter and contribute to the albums of the band.

Harrison at last got the opportunity to perform his music in the formats he’d always desired when the band disbanded. But in fewer than ten years, he had had enough of the music business.

George Harrison’s confession regarding staying away from making music

Harrison took a total break from music in 1977, having worked in the business for almost 20 years. He claimed that he has not written a single song for a long time.

He claimed he lacked the ego necessary to pursue his profession. His membership with The Beatles fully satiated his craving for fame.

Harrison decided it was time to clear out any clutter surrounding his creativity after taking a year off from music. He said that he started to feel a little awkward as people were asking him about releasing more music on a regular basis.

Harrison wanted to please his record label as much as he thought about his fans. He also expressed that he didn’t want to dissatisfy his admirers. He knows that they had been patient with him.

After getting to know race car driver Niki Lauda, he also understood that his music had significance for other people.
