His younger brother responded to the incident on Wednesday, Nov. 6 of their New Heights podcast after the 37-year-old former Philadelphia Eagles star went viral on Saturday, Nov. 2, after smashing the phone of a Penn State football fan who called Travis, 35, and then repeating the homophobic slur back to the fan.

The NFL player told his older brother, “I love you,” then concluded by saying, “I think you said that perfectly.”
Jason, who initially discussed the event on the November 4 edition of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, stated on the podcast that he was “not happy about the situation” and that his response “gave the situation notoriety.” Travis Kelce‘ comments followed his comments.
The former football center stated, “To be honest with you, the word he used is just ridiculous and it takes it to a whole new level. That is what I regret the most.” It’s just over the line and off the wall.”
On Monday, Nov. 5, Penn State Police that they are looking into the altercation. PEOPLE contacted Jason’s and ESPN’s representatives at the time of the event, but they did not immediately respond.
