The Brown family on “Sister Wives” got ready for Thanksgiving, but Meri decided not to be Kody and Robyn’s “third wheel,” declaring, “I’m not a member of the family.”
Following the significant splits that patriarch Kody Brown had with Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown in 2023, Thanksgiving looked quite different for the Brown family.
This evoked feelings in Kody that were both joyful and terrible. Together with their kids, Janelle, 55, and Christine, 52, observed the holiday in November. Meri, the 53-year-old proprietor of Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, chose to spend the day by herself, declining Robyn Brown’s request to go with her and her children with Kody.
I had plans to take a trip to California over Thanksgiving, and that fell
through,” Meri stated to the cameras. “Robyn did ask if I would like to spend Thanksgiving there, and I will not be doing that. I and Robyn do not behave like a married couple when my other Sister Wives are around,” he stated.
That’s mostly Robyn’s fault,” he went on. To be fair, Robyn’s high degree of social sensitivity is the reason for this. She wishes to use extreme caution with their emotions. I don’t get along well with Meri, therefore I’m not comfortable having her home for Thanksgiving.
Later, Janelle revealed to the cameras that she was “surprised” to see that Meri would not be spending Thanksgiving with Robyn and Kody.
Thinking back on his Thanksgiving without his full family
Kody said that the fact that the gathering was “small” due to the family’s distance from him—”just the seven of us”—was “really struggling in many ways.”
Kody expressed his desire for his other children to remain in his life, despite the fact that he still missed his entire family. I’m not sure how to accomplish it. I think I’m appreciative of my religion and hope that things will improve in the future.”
